    Seichur Kuba Carnation Rug. Woven in the Kuba region of the Caucasus. Colorful and realistically woven carnations and cabbage rose heads in rose madder. Cinnamon and saffron yellow are found only in the earliest weavings. The inner border of a rosette and scrolling curled dragons of a continuous meandering vine replace typical lors interlocking dragon border. The flat woven ends folded and sewn glowing chevron retangles one end. In original condition and shows turquoise and purple among eight colors. Fine weave. Mid-19th century. A nomadic treasure.
